Nestled in a beautiful cul-de-sac in Pinecrest, FL, this family of five live in a charming one-story home nestled within a tropical forest landscape. A lively home filled with the sounds of three small children and infused with vibrant colored Guatemalan paintings that adorn the walls. With a very active professional life and three small children that fuel the every day of the family, they expressed their need for 2112 Design Studio to help them design and bring to life the home improvements they were dreaming of.
Our goal was to integrate their Guatemalan heirloom paintings and existing sofas within the design. With that in mind, and having all three rooms open upon each other, the task was to integrate the entry foyer, living, and dining room spaces to speak to one another by choosing furniture and décor, materials, and a color palette that brought an aesthetic harmony within the spaces. An outdated fireplace covered with floor-to-ceiling yellow stones was remodeled. The stones were removed and in its place, a wood mantel with a light gray plaster and a basalt hearth was installed. Additionally, a barn door was designed and installed to separate the social areas of the home and to add interest to the space with the vaulted ceiling. All the three areas were carefully designed and all the furniture and décor pieces were hand-picked by 2112 Design Studio to transform the spaces to be felt as separate areas but aesthetically speaking to each other in harmony.
These rooms feel refreshed, comfortable and have a “wow” factor that welcomes get-togethers with friends and family.
