Nestled within Yakima Valley’s wine country, this house presents itself with stunning views of Cowiche and Scenic Canyon. Intended to be an outdoor patio with breathtaking views, the homeowners and their family were unable to enjoy this space to its full potential due to the massive amount of wind that would pass through it at certain times throughout the year. 2112 Design knowing the needs and wishes of the family went all hands on deck to plan a solution that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Retractable glass doors work with a dual purpose of protecting their users on a windy day while allowing the view to be enjoyed. When not needed, these doors can be fully opened up to incorporate an extra pergola and seating area. Flanked by concrete planters that will fill up with colors and charm during the Spring/Summer added interest and privacy to the space. Not forgetting the entertainment that the owners were so keen on being able to have, we equipped the outdoor hang-out with a barbecue, fireplace, and TV, allowing yearlong barbecuing with outdoor/indoor fun!
